Explore the world of internationally acclaimed physical theatre company Temper Theatre with their unique 5 day creative residency. This residency is designed to empower artists, directors, theatre companies, actors, dancers and physical performers to deepen their creative practice and explore unusual and exciting ensemble storytelling techniques. Participants will learn Temper's fundamental framework for creating narrative through understanding character and conflict whilst collaborating in an ensemble to create highly visual and emotionally charged physical sequences as a way of telling meaningful stories.

The residency will explore:

‘BLUEPRINTS’
Experiment with various techniques to generate dynamic movement based ‘blueprints’ which serve as the foundation for weaving captivating narratives. Discover new ways to push the boundaries of movement, and unravel fresh perspectives on the interplay between movement and storytelling.

‘MAKING A HERO’
Crafting an unforgettable character requires an approach to storytelling that encapsulates the essential essence of the human condition. By delving into ‘The Hero's Journey’ participants will explore ways to structure a compelling narrative that captures the imagination of their audience and reflects the complexities of life.

‘AMALGAMATE’
Enhance your work by infusing it with playful creativity and originality. Explore the different ways that using costumes, props, light and sound can be used to craft unique ways of exploring metaphor and telling stories.

Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with fusing, clashing, and weaving these sequences together before presenting their work in a sharing at the end of the week that will be captured on high quality film.
