Following their international tour of HOME, Temper have developed a new and intensive programme for students and artists who are looking to develop their skills in Physical Theatre.
Temper Theatre are celebrated for his bold visual storytelling, poetic physicality, and emotionally resonant ensemble work. The company has collaborated with leading institutions such as RADA, East 15, and the Central Academy of Drama, delivering high-impact training in physical and devised theatre.
To date, we have worked with over 5,000 students across three continents, spanning elite drama schools, universities, youth academies, and intercultural programmes. Our approach blends Western theatrical methodologies with a powerful, universal visual language. We are now offering our renowned workshop programmes in the UK, Euorope and mainland China, and welcome new partnerships with universities, cultural organisations, and training institutions.
Tempers educational work centres on empowering students to find their voice through the body.
Our teaching philosophy blends narrative frameworks with non-verbal ensemble training and dynamic visual composition to unlock expressive, collaborative storytelling.
Workshops are:
Physical and collaborative rooted in storytelling and metaphorImage-rich and emotionally resonant
Key tools include:
• Blueprints – building movement sequences and developing narrative from physical composition
• Narrative Ingredients – exploring conflict, climax, and resolution, and their vital role in drama
• Devising – generating original performance work inspired by source material
In November, Finn Morrell taught at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, one of China’s most prestigious theatre schools. Leading a week of creative exploration with performance students, he shared Temper’s distinctive approach to physical storytelling and ensemble-led devising. The residency marked an exciting step in Temper’s growing relationship with Chinese theatre-makers and highlighted the company’s expanding international reach.
